In July, we released our long-term vision for interoperable NFTs, outlining our comprehensive plans to future-proof the core infrastructure of the marketplace. Soon DoinGud will launch as the first NFT ecosystem on Ceramic mainnet, proudly adopting a user-centric approach to identity management and positioning ourselves to deliver truly dynamic NFT experiences.

What do we mean by “user-centric approach to identity management”? As a user, you have instant access to all of your NFTs aggregated in a single place — even when they’re stored in various wallets — across different blockchains. Your entire NFT collection and identity are in sync and at your fingertips.

Ushering in a new era of interactive, dynamic NFTs

NFT technology is transforming industries — collectibles, art, and gaming, to name a few. Yet, to date, NFTs have been limited by static, hardcoded properties. This is ideal for rare artworks and collectibles where immutability is a feature, but some digital assets actually gain value from the ability to be altered or updated.

Dynamic NFTs with evolving content inspire entirely new NFT-based experiences, such as:

  • Collectibles or digital art that can be altered by the original creator, current owner, or new data elements
  • Rights that allow the current owner to change the content associated with the NFT, e.g. wearables in AR, VR, or games.

NFTs are challenging our societal perceptions of value and culture. Together, Ceramic and DoinGud are opening the floodgates of creativity, shepherding this cultural shift.

Ceramic provides not only a fully decentralized option to store NFT content and metadata, but also the first way to attach dynamic content to an NFT, with strict permissions and access control rights. The Ceramic Network itself offers a way to store and manage mutable data, while IDX creates the robust identity framework that links this data to a unified decentralized identifier (DID).

Currently in alpha, NFT:DID allows the current owner of an NFT exclusive rights to update content — source

Ceramic streams of data can only be updated by controllers, which are authenticated through the DIDs. With NFT:DID, NFTs themselves can control streams of data, making it easy to update or change content related to the NFT itself while linking all that information together in a decentralized user table.

Cross-chain identities broaden NFT accessibility

DoinGud is building a cross-chain interoperable NFT ecosystem that unlocks collective empowerment. We hope to lead by example, serving as a pioneer in the decentralization movement and placing real power into the hands of our community. This also means being committed to using flexible, scalable and secure data management infrastructure.

Ceramic provides advanced database-like features such as mutability, programmable logic and version and access control — without the use of centralized servers. Built on top of open standards including IPFS, libp2p, and DIDs, and compatible with any raw storage protocol such as Filecoin or Arweave, all information stored on Ceramic exists within a permissionless cross-chain network. IDX, the identity protocol that leverages Ceramic’s data network, provides Web3’s first chross-chain identity model.

IDX enables DoinGud to link multiple blockchains, wallets and social accounts to one unified user identity and effortlessly share that data with decentralized applications. With this integration, DoinGud ecosystem participants can leverage unified profiles, social features and reputations across the greater open web for a significantly improved user experience.

DoinGud’s ecosystem is structured to exemplify the core values of Web3. We envision a world in which communities own the platforms they use, and participants reclaim ownership of their creations and data. All the while encompassing a novel tech stack and robust tools to deliver an exceptional user experience, harnessing the inherent creativity in each of us.

“I think NFTs are going to be the new cookies of the Web3 space. Every time that you interact with a smart contract, you’re going to be receiving an NFT, or every time that you interact with your favorite creator it will be able to be displayed within your own profile. All of this will be part of your (decentralized) identity.” — Manu Alzuru, Founder of DoinGud

As an NFT community, we stand at the apex of technology and culture. As a public good, DoinGud can serve as a beacon of true decentralization in the NFT space and continue to empower disruptive NFT-based experiences.
